In late August this year, Geddes completed its annual donation of school supplies to one of our long-time local favorite resource centers. The Eastside Family Resource Center supports children, mothers, and families in times of financial hardship and homelessness by providing meals, showers, laundry, counseling, case management, mail receipt, and phone access. It is one of our team's core beliefs that our community's most vulnerable children deserve an equal education and equal access to resources to gain a quality education. Our donation was presented to April Stevens, the Volunteer Coordinator for CAN (Community Assistance Networks) which is the parent organization that manages the Shelter. The Eastside Family Resource Center helps bridge the gap of limited resource availability for children and helps ensure kids can stay engaged in their education all year long. Our donation, valued at over $1,700 included learning essentials such as pencils, erasers, highlighters, pens, notebooks, backpacks, focus tools, and fully stocked school supply kits that include everything a child needs to learn throughout the school year. We encourage all our customers, employees, family, and friends to pitch in when, how, and where possible to ensure our next generation has the tools to receive a quality education, regardless of economic background or hardship.
