A Cultural Celebration
For students in a world cultures or social studies class, now is a great time to teach students how the holidays are celebrated in other parts of the world. It's also a great time to teach them research skills. Take students to the library and put them into groups. Each group should be responsible for finding information on holiday celebrations for a certain country or area of the world. Have students assemble their information into a visual like a slideshow or poster which they can then present to the class.
Get into Giving
Get students into the spirit of giving with this giving-themed classroom activities. You could organize a school-wide contest to see which class can donate the most to a local food drive. Or for a smaller activity, try a compliment-themed activity. Hand each student a paper with a list of names of every student in the class, with a space beside it to write a compliment about that student.
