We are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and website visitors. This privacy policy addresses the use of personal information we collect from you. Our primary application of customer information to help us to serve you better and we're committed to maintaining and using this information responsibly. Information We Collect

We require your contact and billing information to send orders and create accounts, as well as to send basic order and shipping confirmations by email. This information is also used to get in touch with you when there's an issue with your order or account.

If you apply for credit terms from Raymond Geddes and Company Inc., we collect the contact information for the person(s) responsible for payment. We do this to verify eligibility and credit worthiness for applicants of credit terms. For customers requesting credit terms for their business, we need a bit more: corporate information, a bank reference, and trade references.

For customers paying via credit card, financial information (like credit card number, expiration date, etc.) is also retained for the purpose of processing the order. We do not store complete credit card information. We retain the last four digits of your card number to indicate to you which credit card was used for a particular order.

Children's Privacy

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998. We do not permit children age 13 or younger to open accounts or place orders, and we don't knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.

We enjoy receiving letters, drawings and pictures from our customers and students, but any shared images that include students cannot be displayed on our site without parental consent. This policy extends to our Facebook page and any other social network site.

Contests and Promotions

Periodically, we may run contests or promotions on our site where we ask visitors for contact information (such as an email address or mailing address). This information is used to verify eligibility and establish communication with contest winners. We do not share this information with partners or other companies.

Email Communications

Periodically, we send email communications regarding new products, weekly specials, promotions, etc. Visitors may enroll (Opt-In) to receive these email communications. Visitors may also remove themselves (Opt-Out) from our email mailing list at any time. Our email program complies with federal CAN-SPAM Act for commercial email.

Some emails are sent due to a specific action and do not require a user to opt-in. Some examples would be Order Confirmation emails, Shipping Confirmation emails, Account Modification emails, Welcome emails, and Get MORE Club reminder and reward emails.

At the bottom of every email we send, there is a link for removing yourself from receiving future promotional emails. Click it or just send us an email requesting removal from future emails. We will remove you from our email list manually and send a confirmation.

These services access specific account information to perform their function, but they are not permitted to use this information for any other purpose and they are not permitted to access .

Direct Mail: As of fall 2012, we utilize a service called a cooperative database for catalog marketing. This is used to help identify new customers that are similar to current customers. It does involve us sharing some personally identifiable information (except where prohibited by law) with the company that owns and maintains the cooperative database, as well as other companies that are part of the cooperative database. This information is restricted to name, postal address, and basic purchasing behavior like average order size or the types of purchased products.

Intellectual Property: In instances where a customer has used our trademarks, copyrights, or patents in violation of our Terms of Use agreement and has not responded to a Cease and Desist request, personal information may be provided in the context of legal process.

Investigation: We may share information to assist in an official investigation of fraud or similar activity. When the activity affects your account, we will notify you of the issue and request your permission to grant limited access to investigators.

Removing Yourself from Our Database

Maybe you're looking to close your account, or maybe an authorized buyer has left the account. You can request removal from our customer database, or specific removal from catalog or email mailings using any of the methods listed below. Please include your name and address so we can identify your account.
